Pixoon is a photo booth rental network with agencies in France and one in Switzerland, in Nyon in the canton of Vaud. The Swiss agency says it answers requests from Geneva, Coppet, Morges, Renens and Lausanne, and adds that it is also close to neighboring France around Divonne-les-Bains and Gex. The agency list on the page names the other branches: Annemasse and Geneva, Annecy, Dijon, Besançon and Beaune, and Lyon. An Instagram post embedded on the page describes an elegant booth dressed in light wood. The booth is a compact box that the couple collects, uses over the wedding weekend and brings back, at a price published on the agency's page in Swiss francs.

The Nyon offer

The Swiss page lists two prices "au départ de Nyon" (from Nyon): CHF 370 with 200 prints, or CHF 420 with 600 prints. Both include the same list of features:

  • all the equipment needed, built in: a reflex camera, a professional printer and lighting
  • unlimited photo sessions, all recorded digitally
  • instant printing, with paper that allows 10x15 cm prints and 5x15 cm strips
  • personalization of the photos: layout, color, font, logo, photo and background, with the option of adding a chosen logo, photo or text to each picture
  • a pack of props for the evening (hats, glasses, frames and more)
  • several days of use at no extra charge, subject to the box being available; the page's example is collecting it on a Thursday and bringing it back the following Tuesday
  • all digital photos sent once the booth is returned, by a link in an email

The digital delivery is thorough. The page says the couple receives the photos in several formats: the pictures as they were printed, with the layout and personalization, and the individual originals before any filter and without the personalized frame. For a couple who want to reuse the best booth shots in a thank-you card or an album, the unframed originals are the useful files.

Extra prints are possible by reloading the printer yourself. The page lists a supplement of CHF 80 for a roll of 400 prints and CHF 40 for a roll of 200 prints.

Personalization is prepared in advance. The page asks couples to decide the customizations they want beforehand, says they can also create their own designs if the agency has not thought of them yet, and points to a themes tab with examples.

How a rental works

Pixoon is a self-service rental rather than a staffed one. The Nyon page describes the collection from Thursday to Tuesday and the reloading of paper by the client, and it does not mention delivery, installation by the team or anyone staying at the event. The company's Annemasse and Geneva agency page, across the border, explains the process in more detail: the client or someone they choose collects the booth from the agency in the days before the event and brings it back the following week. The box consists of a case and its stand, and the page says it is small enough to fit in the trunk of any car, "Validé en Fiat 500 !" (tested in a Fiat 500).

The same page describes the equipment the company builds and uses itself: a DNP sublimation printer, a Canon reflex camera and a dedicated computer. It explains that Pixoon chose not to use a webcam, an iPad or a consumer printer that needs refilling every 10 photos, in order to keep both printed and digital photos at the best quality.

For a couple coming from abroad, the self-collect model has a practical consequence. Somebody in the wedding party needs a car, time to drive to Nyon before the wedding and time to return the box in the days after. That suits a couple living near Lake Geneva, or one with a local friend or family member willing to handle it, better than a couple flying in the day before.

Contact and language

The Nyon agency can be reached by phone on +41 79 567 89 08 or through a form on the page, which asks for a name, email, phone number, the event date, a subject and a message. The site is published in French only and does not mention English. Couples who do not write French can still use the form, but should ask at once whether the exchange can run in English.

What the Swiss page leaves open

The Nyon page gives no deposit, payment terms or cancellation rule. The French agency page asks for payment on collection and a deposit in euros, but the Swiss page does not say whether the same rules apply in Nyon, so that is a question for the first message. The Swiss page does not say whether the booth can be delivered to a venue for an extra fee, whether it needs a power socket, how much space it needs, how long the online link stays active or how far in advance to book. It also does not say which extras from the French agencies (backdrops, an audio guest book, video messages) are available in Switzerland.

Reviews

The Swiss page itself carries no reviews. The Annemasse and Geneva agency page shows a Google rating of 5.0 from 52 reviews, several from weddings. One reviewer rented it for their daughter's wedding and wrote that the booth was a hit with guests of all ages and very easy to set up and use. Another wrote that even guests who hate being photographed joined in, and that they could personalize the background, choose between formats and the number of prints. The team members named in those reviews are Romain and Thibault.

Who it suits

Pixoon's Nyon agency suits a couple marrying on the Vaud side of Lake Geneva or in Geneva who have a car and a helper, want to keep costs clearly under control, and like the idea of having the booth for the whole wedding weekend, from a welcome evening to a Sunday brunch, for one price. The published CHF prices, the 600-print option and the unframed originals are the strengths. The caveats are the self-collect logistics, the lack of staff at the event, a French-only site, and a Swiss page that says little about deposit and terms.
