Samuel Devantéry
Tap a star to rate
Samuel Devantéry is a professional photographer and videographer based in Sierre, in Valais, who also rents out a photo booth (photomaton) built from larch wood from Valais forests. His page offers it for weddings, company parties and other events across Valais, at one published price that includes unlimited prints, delivery, setup and takedown.
The booth
The photo booth page describes a booth with a clean, pared-back design, built in Mélèze (larch) from the canton's forests, which the page says gives character to an event. It promises high-end photographic quality for lasting souvenirs and calls the booth reliable and fast. For a wedding in a mountain hotel, a wine estate or a chalet, a booth in local wood fits the setting in a way a plastic or chrome box does not.
The page lists five features:
- Unlimited 10x15 cm prints, printed instantly on site at any time.
- A touchscreen that is intuitive and fully customizable, so it can show the couple's own image or branding.
- Personalized prints, with a frame in the event's colors, a logo and text such as a date, a hashtag or a message.
- Photos sent by email, which the page presents as a way to share the event live with family and friends.
- Delivery, setup and takedown, all included, turnkey.
The price
The price is on the page. The rental costs CHF 850, plus travel costs of CHF 0.80 per kilometer. Travel is free in the Sierre region. The FAQ repeats the same figures and lists what the rental includes: unlimited 10x15 cm prints, the customizable touchscreen, personalized prints (frame, logo, text), photos sent by email, and full delivery, setup and takedown.
For a couple comparing quotes, that makes the budget easy to estimate: the fixed price plus the mileage from Sierre to the venue. The page does not say whether the kilometers are counted one way or as a round trip, which is the one detail to confirm.
Where it goes
The FAQ says the booth is available throughout Valais, naming Sierre, Sion, Crans-Montana and Martigny, as well as in the neighboring cantons, with travel offered free for the Sierre region. The event list covers weddings, birthdays, company parties, gala evenings, festivals, christenings and any other celebration in Valais and beyond. His services page names Sion, Martigny, Monthey, Visp (Viège) and Brig as places he works.
The photographer behind it
The biography on the page says Devantéry has worked as a photographer and videographer in Sierre since 2017, for agencies, companies and institutions in French-speaking Switzerland and internationally. His work covers corporate portraits, architecture, reportage, events, product photography and studio work, and his video page also lists weddings among the events he films. He holds a bachelor's degree in social work and a diploma in photography, cites more than 12 years of experience and lists membership of SIYU as part of his professional commitment. The page also notes that his first name is written without an H.
He runs a fully equipped 60 m² photo studio in Sierre. The client list includes EPFL, Migros, Banque Cantonale du Valais, Swiss Life, Manor, Swiss Wine Valais, Fully Tourisme and the Bourask Festival, among others. For a couple, the practical point is that the booth comes from someone whose main job is photography, and the same person can be asked about reportage or a video of the day.
Adding photos or a film of the day
Because the booth comes from a working photographer, some couples will want to book more than the booth. The services and video pages set out how that part of the business runs. Devantéry works mainly across Valais but says he also travels throughout French-speaking Switzerland and abroad, depending on the size of the project. Collaboration starts with a conversation by phone, email or over a coffee at the studio, followed by a detailed quote; the booking is confirmed once the quote is accepted, and a preparation session is planned so that the day itself runs smoothly.
On delivery times, the services page says photographs usually take 5 to 7 working days and a full video production, with editing, color grading and sound, about 10 to 15 days, with express options for urgent needs. Photos are delivered in high definition through a private gallery in a client area on his website, where the download link stays active for 30 days. The video page adds that he regularly uses drone shots and can deliver both landscape (16:9) and vertical (9:16) versions for social media. Quotes are described as transparent, covering preparation, professional equipment, retouching and usage rights.
Booking and contact
To book, the FAQ asks couples to use the contact form on the site, after which a personalized quote is sent quickly. Devantéry also says he is happy to answer questions by email, by phone or over a coffee at the studio. The email given is samueldevantery@gmail.com and the phone number +41 79 731 12 11. The studio is at Rue de l'Ile Falcon 20, 3960 Sierre. The studio page says it sits in the Sierre industrial zone, 2 minutes from the Sierre-Est motorway exit, with free parking around the building, and the booth page asks visitors to call ahead.
What the site leaves open
The page does not say how many hours the CHF 850 covers, whether someone stays with the booth during the evening or leaves it running on its own, or how much floor space and power it needs. It does not give a deposit, a cancellation rule or a lead time for booking. It does not say whether the booth can stand outdoors. The site is written in French only and does not mention English; couples who do not write French should say so in the contact form and ask whether the planning can run in English.
Who it suits
Samuel Devantéry's booth suits couples marrying in central Valais, around Sierre, Sion, Crans-Montana or in the vineyards, who want a clear all-in price and a booth that looks at home in an alpine or wine-country setting. Free travel around Sierre makes it particularly good value for venues nearby, and the mileage rule keeps costs predictable elsewhere in the canton. Couples who also need a photographer or videographer can talk to the same person. The caveats are the French-only site and the open questions on rental hours and on-site staffing, which belong in the first message.
