A fine jewelry house in Geneva and Zurich

AGUAdeORO is a Swiss fine jewelry house with a store in Geneva and a store in Zürich, and its wedding band collection is a clear online catalog for a couple planning from abroad: 120 products, nearly all of those shown with a price in Swiss francs, on a site that runs in English, French and German. The house builds its identity on ethics. Its wedding page says AGUAdeORO sees "fine jewelry as an art that must be inseparable from ethics," and that it works "exclusively with 18-carat Fairtrade gold and lab-grown gemstones, ensuring absolute traceability and a responsible footprint."

The wedding bands are described as "refined, elegant, and environmentally responsible" and "Crafted in Switzerland with exceptional expertise." The collection takes in textured surfaces, sculpted designs and multi-tone finishes, as well as eternity bands set with gemstones or diamonds that run partly or fully around the ring.

The three families of bands

The page sorts its wedding rings into three groups.

Memory bands are eternity rings, which the page calls "the symbol of infinite and unchanging love." They are set with diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and other stones, each set, in the house's words, "with unmatched precision, creating a perfect harmony between the beauty of the gems and the elegance of the design." A practical point for couples who already have an engagement ring: the page says the eternity bands can be tailored to the shape of the engagement ring, "thus offering a harmonious and refined set to mark this unique moment in your life."

Classic bands are presented as the choice for couples "seeking simplicity and elegance in their commitment," with an emphasis on comfort for a ring that will be worn for life.

Matching wedding bands are pairs designed for couples who want to "express their bond through their wedding bands," made to "harmonize perfectly while respecting the tastes and preferences of each partner."

Metals and stones

The gold is 18-carat Fairtrade gold in 4 colors: yellow, white, red and rose. The page says this responsibly sourced metal "ensures fair working conditions and supports environmental preservation by adhering to strict ethical practices." Platinum is the other option, described as a metal "whose origin is rigorously controlled" to meet the house's ethical standards and as a good choice for a long-lasting band thanks to its "durability and timeless beauty." The platinum pieces in the list are platinum 950.

For stones, the page promotes lab-grown gemstones, which it calls "As refined and radiant as traditionally mined gemstones," with the advantage of "eliminating the social and environmental impact of mining." The site's menu also has sections on white diamonds and the 4Cs, colored diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and rubies, so the colored-stone route is open too.

Prices on the page

This is where AGUAdeORO is unusually useful. The wedding page shows prices, and the first products listed give a fair sense of the range. At the lower end sit The Bloom in 18k yellow gold at CHF 1,830 and in white gold at CHF 1,890, and Rainbow Black Diams in 18k yellow gold at CHF 1,870. The Rainbow Classic runs from CHF 2,300 in yellow gold to CHF 2,800 in platinum 950. The Fancy Bubbles sit between CHF 2,750 and CHF 3,100 depending on metal, and the Tresa Drops Pavé between CHF 3,330 and CHF 3,650. Larger statement pieces climb from La Cordillera in platinum 950 at CHF 5,930 and The Frozen Moon at CHF 5,750 to Athena's wisdom in platinum 950 at CHF 12,870.

These are single-ring prices as listed, and the same design is usually offered in several metals at different prices, so a couple can compare yellow gold against platinum for the same ring directly on the page. A few pieces, such as The Frozen Branch in platinum, appear without a price, so for those a couple has to ask the store. The list shows only part of the 120 products, so there may be cheaper or dearer pieces further down.

Engraving and services

The page says AGUAdeORO offers engraved rings, and it describes a classic engraving as "offered," alongside the options of a custom text or "even a fingerprint." The site menu lists custom jewelry (create your engagement ring, create your wedding bands), engravings, and an after-sales section covering estimations, measurements and resizing, and presentation boxes. There is also a gift card, and a journal with guides such as white gold versus platinum and choosing an engagement ring size.

For couples coming from abroad

The site works in English, with French and German versions, and its country selector lists Switzerland in francs as well as Argentina, France, Germany, Mexico and Spain in their own currencies. The footer links to pages on prices, taxes and delivery, on delivery, returns and exchanges, and on payment methods, along with separate pages for the Geneva store and the store in Zürich and a contact form.

What the wedding page itself leaves open:

  • It gives no store addresses or opening hours; those sit on the separate store pages.
  • It does not say whether a visit needs an appointment.
  • It does not give production or delivery times for a band ordered in a size or metal not in stock, which matters for a couple working back from a fixed wedding date.
  • It does not state whether staff in the stores advise in English.
  • It does not explain how the fingerprint engraving is taken for a couple who cannot come to a store.

Who it suits

AGUAdeORO suits couples who care where their gold comes from and want that settled in writing, and couples from abroad who want to compare designs and prices before they arrive, since the page puts designs and prices side by side. Having stores in both Geneva and Zürich also gives a couple two places to see the rings in person.

The caveats: these are not budget rings, and the lowest price among the bands shown is CHF 1,830 per ring. The collection leans toward designed, often stone-set pieces, so a couple wanting a plain, heavy gold band made at a local bench may prefer a goldsmith. And practical details such as appointments and lead times need a message to the store before you plan around them.
