Bucherer

Bucherer is a Swiss watch and jewelry retailer with boutiques in Switzerland and a full online shop in English. Alongside the watch brands it sells, it has its own jewelry line, Bucherer Fine Jewellery, which includes a wedding band collection of 36 products and a bridal collection of 166. For a couple from abroad, Bucherer's strength is transparency: prices are shown online in francs, many pieces are marked in stock, and an order can be picked up at a boutique.
The wedding bands
The wedding band page describes the collection as "designed to celebrate your commitment with enduring beauty and sophistication." The bands are grouped in named series, including 2011, 1574, B Dimension, 1868, Sunray, 270 and Lacrima, and the page does not split them into men's and women's rings.
Prices are listed for most of the bands shown. The lowest price on the page is CHF 1,200, and a Lacrima ring sits at CHF 1,250, with other bands at CHF 1,550, CHF 1,700 and CHF 1,750. The 2011 ring is CHF 2,200, a 1574 ring CHF 1,950 and a 1868 ring CHF 3,050, and several others fall between CHF 2,150 and CHF 3,450. At the top, the page shows a B Dimension ring at CHF 5,300, a Sunray ring at CHF 5,800, a ring at CHF 9,000 and a 270 ring at CHF 14,000. The prices are per ring, so a couple buying two bands should budget for both, and many of the bands carry an in-stock label, which helps when the date is close.
The bridal collection
The bridal page, headed "Jewellery for the Day That Means Everything," says each piece "is chosen for this moment" and lists 166 products across series such as Joy, Heaven, 1888, Baguette Love, Classics, Toi & Moi, Diamond Twist, Stretchy, Floating Diamonds, Symbols, Link and Romance. The first 48 products shown range from CHF 1,400 for a Symbols piece to CHF 38,500 for a Diamond Twist piece, with many between CHF 3,000 and CHF 16,500. A couple can therefore find an engagement ring, bands and wedding-day jewelry within one house line.
There is also a gift section for wedding and engagement watches with 88 products, from a Tissot pocket watch at CHF 335 to pieces from Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Vacheron Constantin and others at CHF 55,100, useful for a couple who wants to exchange watches as well as rings.
Buying online and picking up in a boutique
The FAQ explains the practicalities in detail, and they suit a couple planning from abroad.
Click & Collect. You order on bucherer.com, choose Click & Collect and name the Bucherer boutique where you want to collect. The boutique contacts you when the parcel is ready to agree a pickup date and time. You bring a valid ID and can open the package in the boutique with a sales adviser.
Ring sizes. Only one size is offered online, which the FAQ describes as "the most commonly used and also the initial size for adjustments." On request, any size can be made, and each ring is customized individually to fit. If a ring does not fit, Bucherer offers to determine the size and adjust the ring, preferably in one of its boutiques, by appointment through customer service.
Valuable pieces. For security reasons, especially valuable unique pieces are not shipped to a home address but to a shop near you.
Returns. Exchanges are not offered, but an item can be returned within 14 days for a refund.
Ordering. You can order as a guest without an account. Order cancellations go through the phone line.
The house behind the line
Bucherer is first of all a watch retailer, and the site's main menu shows it: Rolex, Rolex Certified Pre-Owned, watches, certified pre-owned pieces, then jewelry, gifts and service. The footer links to pages on the company's values, press, code of conduct and responsible sourcing, and to separate pages on payment, delivery and returns. For a couple, that scale is the point: a known retailer with a service line, an appointment system and several ways to get in touch, rather than a small studio where one person answers every question.
Contact and boutiques
Customer service is on +41 41 369 79 79 or by email at customerservice@bucherer.com, Monday to Friday 09:00 to 18:00 and Saturday 09:00 to 17:00. The site also offers WhatsApp contact and online appointment booking, and a boutique finder that searches by city or country. The boutique finder page invites visitors to discover the selection of watches and jewelry in store and to use the boutique services there.
What the site does not settle
- Boutique list. The locations page is a search tool and does not list the boutiques or their hours.
- Engraving. Neither the wedding nor the bridal page mentions engraving, its cost or how long it adds.
- Resizing time. The FAQ promises any size on request but gives no time for making or adjusting it, which matters when a wedding date is fixed.
- Custom design. The wedding and bridal pages show the house line only. They do not say whether a band can be designed from scratch.
- Shipping abroad. The site is set to Switzerland in English; the delivery terms sit on a separate delivery page, so check whether an order can be sent outside Switzerland.
Who it suits
Bucherer suits couples who want to choose from a clear, priced catalog, like the security of a large retailer with boutiques and a customer service line, and want to order online in English and collect in person. Bands starting at CHF 1,200 per ring and a bridal line with pieces at many price levels give room to plan a budget before setting foot in a store.
It suits less well a couple who wants a one-off design made with a goldsmith, or one who needs a ring in their size quickly without a boutique visit, since sizing beyond the default happens on request or in store. For couples arriving in Switzerland shortly before the wedding, it is worth ordering early and arranging the boutique pickup and any size adjustment in one visit.
