Almog Swiss

Almog Swiss is a jewelry boutique and goldsmith studio at Schaffhauserstrasse 436 in 8050 Zürich, with an online shop that sells everything from fashion jewelry to 14-carat gold wedding bands. The site describes jewelry design as the business's passion since 2004. For couples, the relevant part is the wedding consultation, in which the studio designs a pair of rings with the couple, and a small online range of ready-made wedding bands for her and for him.

The wedding consultation

The consultation page, headed "Beratung mit Herz" (consultation with heart), is the most useful page on the site for a couple, though it is written in German even on the English version of the site. Its main points are clear.

Timing. The studio recommends starting a ring project ideally 6 months, and at the latest 6 weeks, before the wedding. It adds that when something has to happen fast, it sees that as "sportliche Herausforderung" (a sporting challenge), which reads as a willingness to take on short deadlines rather than a promise.

Length. A consultation takes at least 1 hour, because the team works through the couple's wishes in detail, and the page asks couples to plan that time in.

Design at the screen. The studio uses what it calls innovative configuration technology at modern workstations, developing ring models with the couple. The designs are shown photorealistically and priced on the spot, so the cost of each change is visible while you design.

Two different rings. The page says the studio can make 2 different rings in a matching style, so a couple's rings show that they belong together while reflecting different tastes.

Preparation. Couples are asked to come calm and with hands at normal body temperature for accurate measuring, and to bring their own existing rings for a size comparison. The page asks you to take time over sizing, surface finish and engraving.

Booking. Appointments are requested by email to info@almog.ch, giving the preferred date and time. The site header also invites calls on +41 44 590 41 42.

Ready-made bands and prices

Almog publishes prices online. The menu has sections for wedding rings for her and wedding rings for him, and the product pages show what a simple band costs. The Tiny Shiny Ring, listed in the wedding ring collection, is a 1 mm band in 14-carat gold with a polished finish, offered in yellow, white and rose gold at CHF 299.00, including VAT. Stock is shown per size and color, so some combinations are marked sold out. The product text says every dimension of the ring can be adjusted to the customer's wishes and that a personal engraving is possible on request. The homepage was running a 3-for-2 offer on the tiny rings.

Each product page includes a sizing guide with a printable sizing tool and instructions for measuring with a thread. Its tips are practical: measure in the evening, avoid very hot or cold conditions, remember that your two hands differ slightly, and make sure the ring can slide over the knuckle. If you fall between two sizes, Almog recommends the larger one.

Shipping is free within Switzerland. One product page gives delivery in 2 to 3 working days in Switzerland and a 30-day return right. Gift wrapping is offered on request, and there are gift vouchers from CHF 50 to CHF 500 that are sent by post and redeemable in the Almog flagship store.

Beyond wedding rings

The rest of the shop is a mix of fine and fashion jewelry: engagement rings and individual engagement rings, chains, bracelets, earrings, pendants, and pieces sorted by gemstone, birthstone and star sign. Much of the fashion range is brass with gold or silver plating, which the site says is finished with extra layers of 18-carat gold or 925 silver. The homepage also carries a small blog of projects, including one called "Max & Vanille: Von der Skizze zum Trau(m)ring," the story of a wedding ring from sketch to finished piece, and another on the making of a dragon ring. The project posts are dated between 2023 and 2025, which at least shows the studio documenting its custom work.

Getting there

The boutique is at Schaffhauserstrasse 436 in Zürich. The homepage gives public transport directions: tram 14 or bus 768 to the Felsenrainstrasse stop. The site keeps the boutique opening hours on a separate page rather than on the homepage. It says nothing about parking.

What the site does not settle

• Price of custom work. The configurator prices designs during the consultation, but the site gives no guide price for a custom pair.
• Production time. Beyond the 6-month and 6-week guidance, the site does not state how long the rings take to make once the design is agreed.
• English. The shop and menus exist in English, but the consultation page is in German and the site does not say whether consultations are held in English.
• Remote consultations. There is no mention of a video or phone consultation, which matters for a couple who can only visit Zürich once.
• Shipping abroad. The product pages state free shipping within Switzerland; whether rings are sent abroad has to be checked on the separate shipping and delivery page or by email.

Who it suits

Almog suits couples who want to design their own rings with a goldsmith, see the price change as they design, and who can visit Zürich at least once, ideally several months ahead. The published prices also give a sense of cost before you walk in, at least for simple bands. The ability to make two different rings in a shared style is a good fit for couples with different tastes.

The caveats are practical. A couple flying in close to the date should confirm in advance that 6 weeks is still workable for their design, since the page treats a rush job as a challenge rather than a standard service. Couples who do not read German should ask by email whether the consultation can be held in English. And a couple who wants a heavy, high-carat band should note that the ready-made wedding band shown online is a fine 14-carat ring; anything else goes through the consultation.
