Orfelis
Tap a star to rate
Orfelis is a jewelry retailer with two shops in Geneva and one at Signy-Nyon, selling wedding rings in 18-carat gold alongside diamond solitaires and a wider range of gold jewelry. The site describes the business as "your rings and refined diamonds specialist since 1982", and it publishes an English version of its site with prices shown in Swiss francs.
What the wedding ring collection covers
Wedding rings are one of the two headline categories on the site, next to the solitaires. The menu groups them under "Wedding Ring 18K" and splits them by colorway: yellow gold, white gold, bicolor gold and tricolor gold, plus a diamond section. The homepage invites couples to "Discover our rich collection of wedding rings to personalize at will", and elsewhere the shop mentions rings in "yellow gold, white gold or a combination of two or three colors according to your tastes." So this is a collection of existing models that can be adjusted, rather than a goldsmith's atelier that starts every pair from a blank sketch.
Beyond the bands, the shop sells diamond solitaire rings, pendants and earrings, plus rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces set with diamonds, precious stones or semi-precious stones, or made in plain 18-carat gold. A separate "Fashion" section carries the Zag Bijoux brand. The site suggests composing "a personalized set including a necklace with a bracelet, a ring and/or earrings", which could be useful for a couple who want matching pieces for the day or a gift for a bridesmaid or parent.
The diamonds, and what "refined purity" means
The business's main claim is its diamonds. In its own words, "ORFELIS, created in 1982 in Geneva is unquestionably today the specialist in high quality of refined purity diamonds." The same passage says the stones are natural, "reach an extremely rare level of purity, thanks to a scientific qualitative maturation", and are "guaranteed and certified DGI". The footer puts it more plainly, describing Orfelis as specialists in wedding rings and "clarity improved diamonds". The homepage also says the diamonds are "guaranteed of conflict-free origin."
That phrasing matters for anyone buying an engagement stone. The site does not explain what the "scientific qualitative maturation" involves, so a couple comparing prices with another jeweler should ask exactly what has been done to the stone, and ask to see the DGI certificate for the specific diamond before buying. The site also links to a page on diamond quality criteria.
Prices and ordering online
Orfelis shows prices on its site. The "Popular Products" block on the homepage lists eight pieces with Swiss franc prices, from CHF 365 for a piece called Ora up to CHF 1,449 for one called Lipis, with others at CHF 379, 499, 589, 599, 1,385 and 1,399. These are individual jewels, not a pair of wedding bands, so they give a sense of the price level rather than the cost of a wedding set. The homepage also has a "Low prices" section, and the shop's copy says that "contrary to popular belief, it is quite possible to get it at an affordable price."
The site runs as an online shop with "Easy and secure payment using SSL" and free delivery "for purchases over 350.-". It does not say which countries it ships to or how long delivery takes, and it does not explain how ring sizing works for an order placed online. Its general conditions are linked from the footer. For wedding bands, which need to fit two people, most couples will want to visit a shop at least once.
The shops, hours and contact
The three shops each list their own hours and phone number, which is helpful for a couple fitting a visit around a short stay.
- Rousseau, Rue Rousseau 16, 1201 Genève. Monday to Friday 9h30 to 19h, Saturday 9h to 18h. Phone +41 22 732 75 75.
- Rhône, Rue du Rhône 114, 1204 Genève. Monday 11h to 18h45, Tuesday to Friday 9h15 to 18h45, Saturday 9h to 18h. Phone +41 22 786 20 86.

The Nyon shop's late Friday opening is the longest of the three. General questions go to contact@orfelis.ch, the address the site gives. The site names no public transport stops or parking for any of the shops, so check a map before planning a visit. The copyright line names the company as Nahmias S.A, Geneva.
Language
The site is published in French and English, and the English version covers the menu and the longer text on the homepage. It does not say which languages staff speak in the shops. Given that the business went to the trouble of an English shop, an email in English is a reasonable first step, but a couple who need a full consultation in English should ask for it when they book a visit.
What the site leaves open
A few things a couple planning from abroad would want to know are not covered:
- Other metals. The wedding ring collection is shown only in 18-carat gold, in yellow, white, bicolor and tricolor. The menu shows no platinum or separate rose gold section.
- Engraving and customization. The site says the rings can be personalized "at will" but does not describe engraving, width or profile options, or how long a customized pair takes.
- Sizing and aftercare. There is nothing on resizing, repairs or what happens if a ring ordered online does not fit.
- Appointments. The site gives opening hours but does not say whether a wedding ring consultation needs to be booked in advance.
- The team. The homepage mentions "artisan jewelers" but names no one and does not say whether any work is done in-house.
None of these is unusual for a jewelry retailer, but they are worth putting in a first email, especially the lead time if the rings need to be ready before a fixed date.
Who it suits
Orfelis suits couples in or near Geneva who want to see prices before they walk in, and who are happy with a gold wedding ring chosen from a collection and adjusted rather than designed from scratch. The published prices and the online shop make it possible to budget from a distance, and the three shops across Geneva and Nyon give some flexibility on when to visit.
It is less suited to couples who want platinum or a fully bespoke design. Anyone buying an engagement stone here should understand the clarity-improved wording before comparing prices, and should ask about sizing and delivery times before ordering online.
