Libellule Pâtisserie

Libellule Pâtisserie is a pastry shop at Place du Marché 8 in Nyon that sells cakes through an online catalog, including a small range of wedding and baptism cakes with prices shown on the site. It was founded in 2022 by 2 pastry chefs, and it delivers by refrigerated car in the canton of Geneva and part of the canton of Vaud, or cakes can be collected from the Nyon shop.
The business
The wedding page says Libellule Pâtisserie Sàrl was founded in 2022 by 2 "cheffes pâtissières" with a great deal of know-how in the field, and that the idea is to combine exquisite flavors with unique visuals and confections. The English version of the same page puts it as two pastry chefs "with extensive experience in this craft". The pastry chefs are not named.
The shop's catalog is broad. Alongside the wedding section it lists cakes for men, for women and for children, baby cakes, number cakes, biscuits, cupcakes, a candy bar range, a custom order section, collaborations, returns and a blog. For a wedding, the candy bar and cupcake ranges mean a dessert table can be ordered from the same shop as the cake, though the site does not present them as a wedding package.
The site has a full English version, with the wedding page titled "Wedding Cakes in Geneva" and the navigation, catalog and footer in English. That is useful for a couple planning from abroad, since the product details, sizes and fillings can be read without translation.
The wedding cake catalog
The section, called "Mariage/Bâptéme" (wedding and baptism cakes), shows 5 designs with starting prices:
- Lambeth, from 140 francs
- Roses, from 140 francs
- Hart of Grace, from 140 francs
- Just married, from 125 francs
- Petite fleur (called "Small flower" on the English page), from 135 francs
Each product page offers 4 sizes: 8 to 10 people, 12 to 15, 17 to 20 and 22 to 25. The site shows each price as "from" ("à partir"), so the figure is a starting point rather than the price of every size. The portion is given as 80 to 100 g per person, depending on the filling. The page says catalog cakes are a standard size and designed for a maximum of 25 people; for more guests it sends customers to the custom cake section.
The fillings, chosen from a list on each product page, are chocolate, Forêt Noire, vanilla, vanilla with red berry mousse, Red Velvet, vanilla with mango and passion fruit, honey cake, tiramisu style and vanilla-chocolate. The cakes are covered in ganache made with white or dark chocolate, and sugar paste is used for complex decorations. A name, an age and a short message can be added in the order comments at no extra cost, a feature written with birthdays in mind but usable for a couple's names.
The shop is direct about what it does not make. In its own words, "pour le moment, nous ne produisons pas de produits de confiserie sans gluten ou végan" (for now, we do not produce gluten-free or vegan confectionery). Customers are asked to list any allergies in the order comments. The page also warns that cakes may contain inedible parts such as plastic tubes, cardboard separators in large cakes, and toothpicks in edible figures, and that extra decorations such as fresh flowers, handmade flowers, stars or sweets may be attached with wooden skewers or floral wire.
Delivery, collection and handling
Cakes can be collected from the shop in Nyon or delivered. The page says delivery is made in a refrigerated car so that cakes arrive in good condition even in hot weather. The delivery area is the canton of Geneva and part of the canton of Vaud. Delivery is charged separately; its price depends on distance and the conditions of the order, and the page asks customers to send the exact address and order number by WhatsApp to +41 78 610 82 40 for a quote. Payment on delivery is in cash or by Twint.
Delivery runs between 8:00 and 14:00 or between 14:00 and 18:00, with no fixed time within the window, although the shop says it tries to deliver at a time that suits. Parks and entertainment venues are served only if the exact address is given, and on public holidays, road closures or similar the shop cannot guarantee delivery. The page adds that delivery may not be possible for various reasons.
The storage instructions are detailed. After receiving the cake there are 30 to 60 minutes in hot weather to put it in the fridge, and 2 to 3 hours in colder seasons; transport with air conditioning is required. The shop guarantees a shelf life of 24 hours for cakes with fresh berries and 48 hours for other fillings after collection, provided the serving day was given with the order, at a fridge temperature of 5 to 6 degrees. In cold weather the cake should come out 1 to 1.5 hours before serving; above 20°C, 30 minutes before. For carrying the cake, the box must be supported by its base, never lifted by the handle, and placed in the car trunk with nothing else, or on the front passenger floor, never on a seat. The shop takes no responsibility for mishandling.
What the site does not settle
- Lead time. No ordering deadline is given for wedding cakes.
- Size prices. The pages show only starting prices and do not list the price of each size.
- Tiers. The product pages do not say how many tiers each size has.
- Delivery beyond the area. The site does not say which parts of Vaud are covered, or whether it delivers anywhere else; outside that area, collection from the Nyon shop is the option the page names.
- Setup. The site does not say whether the delivery includes placing the cake at a venue.
- Custom designs. The custom cake section is linked but its terms are not described on the wedding pages.
Who it suits
Libellule Pâtisserie suits a couple marrying in the Geneva area or around Nyon with a guest list that a 25-person cake, or a custom cake, can serve, who likes seeing prices before getting in touch and ordering online in English. The published fillings, storage rules and delivery terms make planning from a distance easier than with a maker who publishes none of this.
The caveats are clear on the page itself: no gluten-free or vegan cakes, a catalog built for up to 25 people, and delivery limited to Geneva and part of Vaud.
