RAK Festzeltvermietung AG
Tap a star to rate
RAK Festzeltvermietung AG is a family-run tent rental company at Unterdorfstrasse 3 in Hinwil, in the canton of Zurich. Its site says the business has offered the rental, planning and assembly of tents and tent systems for more than 23 years, for private celebrations, club and company events, trade fairs and large events. Weddings are named among the occasions it plans for, and the company adds furniture, lighting, flooring, décor and climate control to the tent, all from one source.
Tent types
The home page names three tent families: "ob Giebelzelt, Pagodenzelt (Turmzelt, Sechseckzelt) oder urchiges Festzelt («Hütten-Plausch»)". In English, gable tents, pagoda tents (tower or hexagonal tents), and a rustic festival tent called Hütten-Plausch. Elsewhere the company mentions party tents, event tents, storage tents and trade-fair tents, and says its broad range lets it build even very individual and complex tent solutions.
The Hütten-Plausch tent is the one that stands out for a Swiss wedding. The downloads page offers a brochure for it, describing "Die urgemütliche «Hüttenatmosphäre» zum mieten" (a very cozy hut atmosphere to rent) and noting that it comes in many sizes. For a couple who want an alpine-chalet feel without a mountain venue, it is worth asking for that brochure.
The company describes its tent concepts as tailored to the client's needs and adds a phrase that matters for a couple choosing an unusual site: "Dies ortsunabhängig", regardless of location.
Furniture, lighting and interior
The furniture section sets out what goes inside: table and bench sets, seating, tables, bar elements, and interior and exterior lighting, through to matching décor, "alles aus einer Hand" (all from one source). Beyond the classic tent rental, the company offers tailored solutions for furniture, tent climate (Zeltklima), special floors, décor, and indoor and outdoor lighting. The menu also has a section for sanitary facilities (Sanitär-Anlagen).
The company's credo is written on the furniture section: "«Ambiente zu vermieten», das Beste zu bieten, ob in Sachen Style, Exklusivität, Beratung und Service, für jedes Budget" (ambience for rent, offering the best in style, exclusivity, advice and service, for every budget).
Advice, planning and assembly
The service page is where RAK explains how it works. It says it accompanies the client through the whole project, from solution-focused advice and an individual project design to professional assembly, and that its experience tells it how to give each event "budgetgerecht eine perfekte Ambiance", a perfect atmosphere within budget.
On advice, it writes: "Eine gute Beratung ist der Schlüssel für eine erfolgreiche Projektrealisierung. Gemeinsam mit Ihnen evaluieren wir die Möglichkeiten für Ihr Mietzeltprojekt." (Good advice is the key to a successful project. Together with you, we evaluate the options for your rental tent project.) It adds that besides building the tent, it is happy to help with planning the event itself.
For couples unsure what they need, the home page offers detailed advice and says the company takes care of official regulations and inspections: "kümmern uns um behördliche Vorschriften und Abnahmen". Which permits a particular site needs is a question for the company and the local authority; RAK's own site says it handles that side.
The assembly team, the service page says, carries out each project with the greatest care ("mit grösster Sorgfalt"), and willingness, professionalism, flexibility and impeccably maintained material are taken for granted.
People and contact
The management page names the family behind the business:
- Reto Kunz, managing director, mobile +41 (0)79 407 24 21, r.kunz@rak-festzelte.ch
- André Kunz, deputy managing director, mobile +41 (0)79 218 17 25, a.kunz@rak-festzelte.ch
- Andrea Egli, administration, info@rak-festzelte.ch
The main number is +41 (0)44 937 34 35, and the contact page has a form. The company describes its team as competent, well trained tent specialists with up-to-date industry know-how, and its culture as shaped by a spirit of innovation and responsibility toward employees and partners.
Prices
RAK offers a price list. The downloads page lists a "RAK-Preisliste" covering rental tents, rental furniture, infrastructure and furnishings, with a print version to download. The figures are in that document rather than on the page, so download it for a first idea of costs, then ask for a quote for your site.
Approaching RAK from abroad
The home page frames the first conversation around a question: whether you are planning a company event, a trade fair, a club or sports event, a wedding or a garden party, and are looking for the right setting, the right tent architecture and the right tent size. The service page adds that the company handles everything from a small but refined private party to a large event with individual tent architecture. A couple planning from abroad can do much of the groundwork before the first call: download the price list and the Hütten-Plausch brochure, pick the tent family that suits the style of the day, and send the date, the address, the guest count and the kind of ground to one of the managers by email. Mention the season, because tent climate is one of the company's own options, and ask whether toilets from the sanitary range are needed at your site.
What the site does not settle
- Tent sizes and capacity. The pages give no dimensions or guest numbers; the price list and the Hütten-Plausch brochure may.
- Weddings in detail. Weddings are named in the list of occasions, but there is no wedding gallery or example on these pages. A media section in the menu may show past setups.
- Area served. The company says its tent concepts work regardless of location but names no service area or travel charge.
- Language. The site is in German only and says nothing about English. With named managers and direct mobile numbers, a first call or email settles this quickly.
- Lead time and terms. No booking lead time, deposit or cancellation terms appear.
Who it suits
RAK suits couples planning a garden, farm or private-property wedding in the Zurich area or beyond who want a family-run supplier that handles tent, furniture, lighting, flooring, climate and toilets, helps with planning, and takes care of the official side. The Hütten-Plausch tent is a distinctive option for a rustic Swiss celebration, and the downloadable price list helps with early budgeting.
It suits less well a couple who need an English-language website or who want catering from the tent company, which the site does not mention. For couples from abroad, the managers' direct email addresses are the practical way in.
