Rent-a-Tipi Schweiz GmbH
Tap a star to rate
Rent-a-Tipi Schweiz GmbH rents large Nordic-style tipi tents for events across Switzerland, from its office at Chamerstrasse 172 in 6300 Zug. Weddings and free ceremonies (freie Trauungen) head its list of typical uses, and the company brings the tipis wherever the event takes place, "In Zürich, Bern, Basel, St. Gallen, Luzern oder mitten in der Natur" (in Zurich, Bern, Basel, St. Gallen, Lucerne or in the middle of nature). Three packages cover the basics, and setup, teardown and up to four rental days are always included.
The tipi idea
The home page explains the pitch: "Ein Tipizelt zu mieten heisst, einen besonderen Raum zu schaffen" (renting a tipi means creating a special space), not an ordinary tent but a place full of atmosphere. The company calls its tents Riesenhut-Tipis, giant-hat tipis, and says they give protection in sun or rain while creating a distinctive ambience, "Lichtdurchflutet am Tag, stimmungsvoll am Abend" (flooded with light by day, atmospheric in the evening).
It addresses the reader who wants something different: "Du willst keinen Standard. Kein Zelt von der Stange." (You don't want standard. No off-the-shelf tent.) A tipi, the page argues, creates atmosphere rather than just floor space, adapts to any style from simple to spectacular, and works in sun just as in rain. The about page adds that the tents combine "nordisches Design mit Schweizer Präzision" (Nordic design with Swiss precision), are weatherproof and adaptable, and fit any place, from a city park to a mountain meadow.
Weddings
The wedding page promises that the tipis make "deine Hochzeit so einzigartig wie eure Geschichte" (your wedding as unique as your story). Its reasons are romantic, close-to-nature and stylish atmosphere; flexibility, in nature or in town, in sun and rain, "für kleine Trauungen und grosse Feiern" (for small ceremonies and big celebrations); and support from beginning to end. It links to a gallery of past events, and it carries a form headed "Ich möchte die Preisliste der Tipis erhalten" (I would like to receive the tipi price list), so prices are available on request rather than printed on the page.
The tipis also serve birthdays, anniversaries and garden parties, company and team events, brand and sponsoring appearances, VIP lounges, trade fairs, festivals and concerts.
The three packages
The packages page sets out three tiers. In all of them, professional setup and teardown and up to four rental days are included, which the company says leaves time for setup, the event and a relaxed dismantling. All three also allow a flexible number of tents: "1, 2, 3 oder mehr Tipis kombinierbar" (1, 2, 3 or more tipis can be combined).
- Paket Silber is the functional base, "ganz ohne Schnickschnack" (no frills), with setup and teardown management and basic lighting. The company recommends it where you value creative freedom and flexibility.
- Paket Gold adds a classic, stylish wooden floor for a higher-quality feel and more comfort, and the page names outdoor weddings among its ideal uses.
- Paket Platin adds table and bench sets to the wooden floor and lighting. The company calls it its fully equipped premium solution "bei der du dich um nichts kümmern musst" (where you don't have to worry about anything), and lists weddings among the events it suits.
If none of the three fits, the company develops a tailored solution with you: "Jedes Event ist einzigartig" (every event is unique). The packages page also lists possible additions such as lighting, flooring and furniture.
Locations
The company works with selected partner locations across Switzerland, from meadows with views to stylish sites with infrastructure, where its tipis have already been used. At these, it says, permits and access are clarified ("Genehmigungen und Zufahrten sind geklärt"), power and water connections are partly available, the setup has been checked logistically, and further infrastructure can often be used. You can also agree your own preferred location with the team, "Du kannst deine Wunschlocation direkt mit uns abstimmen". For your own site, permits, access and power are points to settle with the company, since the page states that these are clarified only for the partner locations.
The team and experience
The about page introduces three people. Tobias Knop is described as an experienced organizational developer who creates lasting experiences for brands, teams and bridal couples. Noel Blessing has been in the events world for more than 20 years and brings a marketing eye. Bernd Forster fell for tipis in Sweden in 2004 and, back in Germany, founded Rent-a-tipi.com, bringing the Nordic tents to the market as one of the first. The page lists 20+ years of experience and 1000+ events, and regional partners in Germany (Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Bremen, Hamburg) and Austria (Tyrol, Salzburger Land).
The company's promise is personal: "Wir begleiten dich persönlich, vom ersten Kontakt bis zum Abbau vor Ort. Kein Callcenter, keine Standardlösungen." (We accompany you personally, from first contact to dismantling on site. No call center, no standard solutions.) One client testimonial, from Anna, says the atmosphere of the tipis made the event something special.
Booking and contact
The contact page asks you to say when and where the event will take place, for how many people and what you have in mind, and adds: "Wir sind in der Schweiz, in Deutschland und in Österreich für dich da" (we are there for you in Switzerland, Germany and Austria). Contact is by the form, by email at info@rent-a-tipi.ch or by phone on +41 76 737 76 44.
What the site does not settle
- Prices. Not printed; the price list is sent on request through the wedding page form.
- Capacity. No guest numbers per tipi are given. Ask how many tipis your guest count needs, seated and standing.
- Heating. The packages mention lighting, floors and furniture, not heating. For a spring or autumn wedding, ask.
- Language. The site is in German and says nothing about English.
- Lead time and terms. No booking lead time, deposit or cancellation terms appear.
Who it suits
Rent-a-Tipi suits couples who want a tent with character for a garden, meadow or mountain wedding anywhere in Switzerland, or for a free ceremony outdoors, and who like the idea of choosing between clear packages. The Platinum package makes it possible to hand over tent, floor, light and seating in one booking, and the partner locations remove the search for a site.
It suits less well a couple who want a white formal marquee, need an English-language website, or want catering from the same company, which the site does not offer.
