A tent and event rental company near Thun
Tent in Time GmbH is an event rental company at Schnittweierweg 36 in 3612 Steffisburg, which it describes as "bei Thun" (near Thun). Its home page sums up the range in one line: "vom Kaffeelöffel bis zum Festzelt" (from the coffee spoon to the festival tent). It asks whether you are planning an event, a wedding, a business function or a birthday party, and offers everything needed for it, with all the services that go with the material. The company says it delivers throughout the canton of Bern and across Switzerland.
The team page introduces "Stefan Schlapbach, Michael Kunz und Ihre Crew" (Stefan Schlapbach, Michael Kunz and their crew). Contact is by phone on 079 100 33 11 or by email at info@tentintime.ch, and the company is on Facebook and Instagram.
Tents
The menu lists four kinds of tent:
- Festzelt 10m Spannweite, festival tents with a 10 m span
- Partyzelt 6m Spannweite, party tents with a 6 m span
- Faltzelte Ecotent, Ecotent folding tents
- Tentickle Stretchzelte, Tentickle stretch tents
The team page describes the approach in its own words. As professional event organizers, they find the right festival tent for your occasion, "Ob heimelig klein und gemütlich oder gewagt gigantisch" (whether homely, small and cozy or daringly gigantic), and add that the one thing they always try to keep as modest as possible is your budget. They call themselves skilled tent fitters, and say the tent they put up looks as good as it stands firm. As experienced event planners, the page continues, they know what matters at an event: the right accessories, suitable decoration and a full sound guarantee a successful occasion.
The site does not publish the lengths of the tents or how many guests each size holds, so the layout for your guest count is part of the quote. The wedding couple quoted on the references page chose a Tentickle stretch tent; the wider festival tents and the smaller party and folding tents give other options, for instance a separate cover for an aperitif or a bar next to the main tent.
Flooring
Three floor types appear under Boden (floor): formwork-board flooring (Schaltafelboden), event carpet and floor coverings, and Passareco ecoplate panels. The event carpet page is detailed. The carpet is for single use and comes with a plastic film that protects it while the tent is being set up and furnished. It is available in 40 colors. Anthracite and red can be delivered in any quantity; special colors are supplied by the roll, with a roll width of 200cm or 300cm and a roll length of 3000cm.
Infrastructure, furniture and tableware
Under infrastructure, the menu lists lighting and sound (Beleuchtung und Beschallung), heating (Heizungen) and safety equipment. Under furniture it lists festival furniture, banquet seating, a lounge and tableware (Geschirr), and under accessories it lists catering equipment, decoration and miscellaneous event material.
The banquet seating page is the most specific. For more upscale events, the company offers round banquet tables with matching linen and banquet chairs upholstered in anthracite with a gold diamond pattern, with white chair covers to match. The round table seats 8 people, has a diameter of 180cm, a white plastic top and an anthracite metal frame. The round white tablecloth measures 220cm.
The miscellaneous page promises that whatever you need, they make it possible, from a bin-bag holder for 110L sacks to room dividers and trade-fair accessories. If something is not listed, the home page says, just ask: the company or someone from its extensive partner network will have it. The team page adds that food can be arranged on request through its catering partners ("Fürs kulinarische Wohl kümmern wir uns auf Wunsch mit unseren Catering-Partnern").
What clients say
The references page carries three testimonials. A wedding couple, Rahel and Christian Frutiger, write that Tent in Time was by far the best partner at their wedding: "Unglaublich zuverlässig, unkompliziert und reaktiv" (incredibly reliable, uncomplicated and responsive). They add that the team was very professional throughout, always got back to them quickly, and that setup and teardown were even fun, and they praise "Unser Tentickle-Zelt mit allem Zubehör wie Beleuchtung, Tische, Stühle, Hussen, Bar, Bühne und Lounge" (our Tentickle tent with all the accessories such as lighting, tables, chairs, chair covers, bar, stage and lounge).
Fredy Horisberger of IMMER AG in Uetendorf writes that in August 2019 the company inaugurated its new site with well over 2000 guests, and that Stefan Schlapbach "spürte genau was uns für dieses einmalige Fest wichtig ist" (sensed exactly what mattered to us for this one-off celebration) and carried out what was agreed perfectly, with lighting, sound and furniture all fitting the concept. Samuel Keller of Alpenfahnen AG, who found the company online, writes that the quote alone showed how quickly Stefan Schlapbach grasped their needs, and praises a trade-fair stand where setup, teardown and the small details were handled confidently.
What the site does not settle
- Prices. None are published. Everything is quoted.
- Tent sizes and capacity. Only the spans are given (10 m and 6 m), not lengths or guest numbers.
- Delivery costs. The company delivers across Bern and Switzerland, but the site does not say what travel adds.
- Language. The site is in German only and says nothing about English.
- About page. The company's about page is empty, so there is no founding year or history.
- Lead time and terms. No booking lead time, deposit or cancellation terms appear.
Who it suits
Tent in Time suits couples marrying around Thun or elsewhere in the canton of Bern who want one supplier for the tent and nearly everything in it: floor and carpet in a chosen color, lighting and sound, heating, banquet tables and chairs with linen and covers, a lounge, tableware, and, through its partners, catering. The wedding testimonial and the large inauguration show that the team handles both a private wedding and an event with more than 2000 guests.
It suits less well a couple who want tent sizes and prices online or an English-language website. For couples from abroad, email is the practical first step: give the date, the site, the guest count and the items you want, and ask in the same message whether the planning can run in English.
