Tschäppät Moret Tentes Events is a tent and temporary-structure rental company based at Chemin des Nageux 3 in Cornaux, in the canton of Neuchâtel. It rents marquees of several systems together with the furniture, flooring, heating and accessories needed to turn a field or garden into a place to hold a wedding, and it lists weddings first among the occasions it serves, ahead of birthdays, festivals and village fêtes.

Where the business comes from

The company's own "A propos" page tells a short story. The tent business was first set up in 1982 by the firm Baumann in Cudrefin. In March 2018 the carpentry and joinery company Charpente Menuiserie Tschäppät & Moret SA took over the operation and moved all of its activity to Cornaux, and Tschäppät & Moret Tentes Events was created. The footer names the legal entity as Tschäppät Moret Tentes Events Sàrl. In other words, this is a tent rental operation with roots going back several decades, run since 2018 by a local building-trade firm, and the site presents it as its own business with its own address, contact form and rental conditions.

The same page says the company's many contacts in the building and events worlds helped give the business a new lease of life. It names organizations that have trusted it: Festi'Neuch, the Fête des Vendanges de Neuchâtel, the Lunch Max, Neuchâtel Vins et Terroir, La Marina Neuchâtel, the Médiévales du Landeron, the Fête des Vendanges d'Auvernier, the Boudrysia, the commune of St-Blaise and the Rotary Club. That is a list of public festivals and local institutions rather than weddings, but it tells a couple the company is used to large outdoor setups in the Neuchâtel region.

The tents

Every tent in the range comes with white canvas roof covers and side curtains, with or without windows, according to the site. The range is laid out by system, each with its own offer button:

  • Stretch tent. A fabric the site describes as endlessly adaptable, a model that shapes itself to the event, in different sizes. For a wedding this is the freer, more sculptural option.
  • Multiflex modular system. Widths of 3m, 4m, 6m, 8m, 10m or 12m, built up in bays 3m long, with an eave height from 2.3m to 5m. This is the classic rectangular marquee that grows with the guest list.
  • Uniflex and P3N modular systems. Wider structures from 12m to 21m across, in bays 5m long, with eave heights of 2.8m to 3.4m. These are the large-format halls.
  • Pagoda. A square tent from 3m to 5m, with an eave height of 2.2m, the usual choice for a bar, a welcome drink or a lounge corner beside a larger tent.
  • Folding tents. Folding tents of 3x3m and 3x6m and a folding pagoda of 4x4m, with curtains, weights and accessories, rented with or without delivery.
  • Other types. A hexagonal tent is listed separately.

The site gives dimensions but no guest capacities. It does not say how many seated guests a given Multiflex length holds, so the couple has to give the company a guest count and a layout and let it propose the size.

Furniture, floors and heating

The furniture list is detailed enough to plan a seated dinner:

  • Wooden tables 2.5m long and 60cm or 90cm wide, with benches or chairs, and wooden tables 5m long and 60cm wide with benches.
  • Round wooden tables 1.5m in diameter with chairs, with black covers to fit, and white PVC high tables 85cm in diameter, also with black covers.
  • PVC chairs with white chair covers.
  • A modular podium or stage in 2.5m elements, 60cm to 100cm high, useful for a band or a speech.
  • A modular wooden floor from 3cm to 40cm high, which matters on uneven ground or a sloping lawn.
  • A folding wooden bar 2.3m long, with a working height of 90cm and a counter height of 110cm.

For cooler evenings the site lists gas patio heaters, an oil-fired hot-air heater and a small gas hot-air heater. Accessories include string lights, a cloakroom, barriers and a generator. A generator on the list is useful for a field or meadow with no mains supply, which is a common situation for a farm or garden wedding.

Setup and booking

The company's stated strength is availability. The site's own words are "Notre atout? La disponibilité!" (our strength? availability!), and it promises that a request will be handled quickly, with quality work done safely. It also states "Vous avez une équipe de montage? Pas de problème!" (you have your own assembly team? no problem!), adding that its specialists will guide that team so the collaboration is done properly. So a couple with helpers of their own, or a venue with its own crew, can take part in the build under the company's direction rather than paying for a full crew.

Booking goes through a contact form on which every field is required: name, email, phone, street address, postcode and town, subject, the event date, the event location and a message. The event date and place are part of the form, which tells a couple what the company needs before it can quote. The office is reachable on +41 32 723 11 40 and at info@tschappat-moret.ch, Monday to Thursday from 07h00 to 12h00 and 13h00 to 17h00, and on Friday from 07h00 to 12h00 and 13h00 to 16h00. General rental conditions are offered as a download on every page, and a couple should read them before signing.

Getting there, and the language question

The contact page gives directions by road to the Cornaux premises. From Neuchâtel or from Biel/Bienne, leave the motorway at Cornaux (exit 18), turn right toward Cornaux, turn right before the bridge over the railway line, and the company is 200m further on the left. That is the depot, not a showroom; for a wedding the tents come to the couple.

The whole site is in French, and the language switcher offers French only. A couple planning from abroad should expect to write in French or to ask at the first contact whether English works. The site does not say either way.

What the site leaves open

The site publishes no prices and no guest capacities per tent. It does not describe a service area beyond the Neuchâtel references, so a couple planning a wedding in another canton should ask whether the company travels that far and what delivery costs. It gives no lead time and no booking deadline for the summer season, and it does not say whether a technician stays on site during the event. None of the tent listings mentions sidewalls in clear material or lining, so the look inside is the white canvas described above unless the company offers something else on request.

Who it suits

This company suits a couple planning a garden, farm or field wedding in or around the canton of Neuchâtel who want one supplier for the tent, the floor, the tables, the bar and the heating. The measured dimensions on the site make it easy to sketch a layout before asking for a quote, and the option of working with one's own assembly team can suit a family that likes to build things itself. It suits less well a couple who need English throughout, or one who wants a price range before making contact: every figure beyond the dimensions has to come from a quote.
