An owner-run tent rental in Thurgau
UK Festzeltvermietung GmbH is a tent rental business in Sulgen, in the canton of Thurgau, run by its owner Urs Kolb. It also trades under the older name Zelt Müller Sulgen, which the site describes as a division of the GmbH ("ehemals Zelt Müller Sulgen", formerly Zelt Müller Sulgen). It rents party tents, festival tents, large tent halls, white pointed pagoda tents and folding pavilions, together with the furniture and equipment to run a party inside them. Weddings are named in the owner's own statement on the company page, alongside company events and celebrations of every kind.
The welcome page presents the business in three short figures: "100 % Inhaber geführtes Unternehmen" (100% owner-managed), "2021 Gründungsjahr" (founded 2021) and "100 % Engagement & Passion". The copyright line runs from 2021 too. The company page says Urs Kolb and his team also cover large areas for gymnastics festivals, wrestling festivals and music festivals, so a village-scale wedding is well within its usual range.
The welcome page describes the company as a partner for tent rental in eastern Switzerland, naming Thurgau, Lake Constance (Bodensee) and St. Gallen. The tent-hall page's title adds Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Innerrhoden, Zurich, Aargau and Schaffhausen, and its text says the company is based in Thurgau but delivers its tents and halls to "(fast) jeden Ort der Ostschweiz" (almost any place in eastern Switzerland).
The tent range, with the site's own capacity charts
This is where the site is unusually useful: every tent type comes with a table of sizes and the number of people each holds.
Party tents (Partyzelte) are 6 meters wide and hold 30 to 400 people. The quote form lists them from 6 x 6 m for 30 people, through 6 x 9 m for 60, 6 x 12 m for 100, 6 x 15 m for 150, 6 x 18 m for 200 and up to 6 x 45 m for 400.
Festival tents (Festzelte) are 8 meters wide and hold 70 to 470 people: 8 x 6 m for 70, 8 x 9 m for 100, 8 x 12 m for 140, 8 x 15 m for 180, and so on in steps to 8 x 39 m for 470.
Tent halls (Festhallen) are for larger events where there is room for a 12-meter width. The hall page lists them from 12 x 15 m for 250 people to 12 x 39 m for 650. The page pitches them at fairs, tournaments and general assemblies rather than weddings, but for a very large wedding it is the option that exists.
Pointed tents and pagodas (Spitzturmzelte) are white, 6 by 6 meters, with room for 40 people each. The site's advice is plain: "In einen schönen Garten oder Park passt am besten ein Spitzturmzelt" (a pointed tent suits a beautiful garden or park best). They can be combined: a double pagoda of 6 x 12 m takes 80 people and a triple of 6 x 18 m takes 120, and if more than three are needed, the company will get them.
Folding pavilions (Faltpavillon) are sold as extras for the kitchen and the barbecue: a black 3 x 4.5 m unit for grilling only, a light gray 3 x 6 m pavilion for 24 to 32 people and a light gray 4 x 8 m pavilion for 48.
The quote form also offers kitchen annexes (Küchenanbau) in 3 x 3 m, 3 x 6 m, 3 x 9 m and 3 x 15 m, which let a caterer work beside the tent under cover.
Furniture and equipment
The quote form lists table sets of 1 table with 2 benches, banquet tables 80 cm wide, standing tables 80 cm across and white chairs with armrests. The company page lists a much longer inventory: tables, chairs and bars, festival benches, round banquet tables, upholstered chairs, plates, crockery and cutlery (on request), serving trays, glasses, dishwashers, plate warmers, a fridge and a coffee machine, heating elements for tents (on request), lounge furniture, sanitary facilities, tent flooring and lighting. For a wedding on a meadow or a farm, the sanitary facilities, flooring and heating on that list are the items a couple most often forgets.
How booking and setup work
Requests go through the online quote form or by phone to Urs Kolb on 076 483 43 63. The form asks for the tent type and size, the quantity of furniture, the setup location with its access and ground ("Aufstellplatz (Zufahrt und Baugrund)"), any special points, the date the tent must be standing and the date it can come down, plus the couple's contact details. Every contact block asks for a call and exact information about the site and the access routes. The tent pages state that prices are per weekend, excluding VAT.
On setup, the tent-hall page is specific: the company builds the halls on site with its own foreman (Richtmeister) and the customer's helpers. That is normal for Swiss village festivals and worth knowing in advance: a couple should expect to provide some helpers for a large build and ask how many.
What the site does not settle
The site publishes no actual prices, only that quotes are per weekend and before VAT. It does not say how far ahead a summer weekend is booked out, whether the pagoda and party tents are also built with the customer's helpers or by the company's team alone, what delivery costs outside Thurgau, or what the cancellation terms are. Catering is not a service of the company; the kitchen annexes and kitchen equipment are there for the couple's caterer. The site is in German only, with no English version, so a couple writing from abroad should ask at the first contact whether the conversation can happen in English.
Who it suits
UK Festzeltvermietung suits a couple planning a garden, farm or village wedding in Thurgau, St. Gallen or elsewhere in eastern Switzerland who want to deal directly with the owner and plan against published capacities. The capacity charts make it easy to size a tent before asking for a quote, and the pagodas are a good fit for a smaller garden wedding. It suits a couple less well if they cannot supply helpers for a large build, want an English-language website, or plan a wedding outside eastern Switzerland.
