A fabric-tent rental in Zug with its prices on the page

zeltvermietung.ch is a tent rental company, zeltvermietung.ch AG, at Dorfstrasse 1 in Zug. It rents fabric tents, folding pavilions and furniture for company events, weddings and private parties, and it does something most Swiss tent firms do not: it publishes its prices, sizes and guest numbers on its homepage. The site's counters say the business has been going "Seit 37 Jahren" (for 37 years) and has put up 3866 tents. It describes its tents as waterproof, distinctive in look and made in Switzerland, and it has an English version of the site.

The four fabric tents

The tents are made of waterproof fabric and fixed all round with wooden poles and anchors, according to the homepage, and the site says its tents, pavilions and furniture stand out for their "schöne Optik und die besonderen Materialien" (good looks and special materials). Four sizes are listed, each with a PDF data sheet:

  • Stoffzelt S, CHF 1850, for 50 people, 6.00 x 10.00 meters outside, needing a space of 8.00 x 12.00 meters.
  • Stoffzelt M, CHF 2850, for 80 to 120 people, 10.00 x 15.00 meters outside, needing 12.00 x 17.00 meters.
  • Stoffzelt L, CHF 3850, for 150 to 200 people, 11.00 x 21.00 meters outside.
  • Stoffzelt XL, CHF 6850, for 250 to 300 people, 12.00 x 32.00 meters outside, needing about 14.00 x 35.00 meters.

The line above the price table matters: "Preise ohne Transport und Auf-/Abbau" (prices without transport and setup or dismantling). The tent price is the starting point, and delivery and labor come on top. Even so, a couple can see within a few minutes whether a tent for their guest count is in their budget, and the required-space figures let them check whether the garden or meadow is big enough before calling anyone.

Furniture and pavilions

The furniture list is short and also priced: a wooden folding chair with a white cushion at CHF 9, a teak folding chair with a white cushion at CHF 10, a Crossback wooden chair with a cushion at CHF 10, a parasol with a steel base and a 3.00-meter diameter at CHF 150, a black bar counter with a work surface at CHF 150, and a folding banquet table of 80.00 x 120.00 cm at CHF 20.

Folding pavilions, which the site pitches for garden parties and outdoor stalls as protection from sun and rain, come in five sizes: XS at 3.00 x 3.00 meters for CHF 200, S at 4.00 x 4.00 meters for CHF 250, M at 3.00 x 6.00 meters for CHF 300, L at 4.00 x 6.00 meters for CHF 450 and XL at 4.00 x 8.00 meters for CHF 550. At a wedding, a pavilion beside the main tent works as a bar, a caterer's station or a shaded apéro corner.

Weather, wind and setup

The FAQ answers the questions a couple planning an outdoor wedding actually asks. Are the tents waterproof? Yes, the site says: they are made of materials developed to keep out rain and moisture, the seams are sealed and the fabric has a protective coating. What about wind and storms? The site says the tents are built to be stable and usable in wind, but that the organizer must clear the tent in gusts from 80 km/h, which it attributes to insurance reasons. A couple should make sure someone at the wedding knows that rule and has a plan B for the guests.

Can couples put the tents up themselves? The answer is direct: "Nein, die Stoffzelte können nicht selbst aufgebaut werden" (no, the fabric tents cannot be set up by the customer). To reduce the cost of setup and dismantling, though, a couple can provide helpers to support the company's experienced team, so that the tent goes up quickly and correctly. That is the one lever the site names on labor cost.

Delivery, team and booking

The FAQ says the company delivers to the whole of Switzerland, naming Zurich, Geneva and Basel as examples. The team section lists Christoph Wirz (wirz@zeltvermietung.ch) and Riet Zoffel (zoffel@zeltvermietung.ch), along with Rolf Wydler, Kevin Steimer, Declan Paul Ellis and Lucian Heer. The main contact is info@zeltvermietung.ch or +41 41 450 04 14, and a short contact form lets a couple tick fabric tent, pavilion or furniture and ask for a free quote. The company's general terms (AGB) are linked from the footer.

Customer reviews on the homepage include a couple who held their wedding in one of the tents with a wooden floor laid and the tables and chairs supplied, and a caterer, Restaurant Schiff, describing a tent put up on a snow-covered meadow above Zug, with the material carried about 200 meters down the slope. Those reviews also show two things the price list does not: a wooden floor is available, and the team will work in winter conditions.

Partners

The site names long-standing partners: Tentickle for stretch tents for weddings and gardens, Avivox for lighting and sound, Kuhn Zelte for large festival and storage tents, and Segelmacherei.ch for sun sails and textile architecture. A couple who need a tent larger than the XL, sound for a band, or a stretch tent can ask to be put in touch.

What the site does not settle

The site does not publish transport or setup costs, the price of the wooden floor, or any heating or lighting options of its own. It does not say how long a rental period the price covers, how far ahead summer dates book up, or what the cancellation terms are beyond the linked AGB. The Stoffzelt L has no required-space figure in the table. It does not mention altitude, so a couple planning a mountain meadow should describe the site and access in detail.

Who it suits

zeltvermietung.ch suits a couple planning a wedding for 50 to 300 guests anywhere in Switzerland who want to know early what the tent will cost. The published prices, footprints and English-language site make it one of the easier tent firms to plan with from abroad. It suits less well a couple who want a complete package with heating, lighting and catering from one supplier, or one hoping to save by building the tent themselves: the tents are only put up by the company's team, with helpers at most.
