What it is

Dekorationsvermietung.ch AG is an event rental company with its office and warehouse at Industriestrasse 1, 5624 Bünzen, in the canton of Aargau. Its slogan is "Wir vermieten alles von A–Z!" (we rent everything from A to Z), and the about page backs it up: a warehouse of about 2,000 square meters holding around 3,000 items, from an America statue to a candy-floss machine. The range covers decoration, seating, lounges, heaters, tents, grills, bars, cloakrooms, table linen, event games, lighting, sound systems, festival equipment and artificial plants. The company says it handles around 3,000 jobs a year for private customers, clubs, small businesses, event agencies and large companies.

Weddings have their own category in the online shop (Hochzeit), and the reference pages list a long run of weddings the company has equipped. On request, the team also plans and runs weddings, trade fairs, theme parties, company events and birthdays.

History and location

The company was founded in 2001 by Florian Rutz in Wiesendangen ZH, under the name «Ibiza Party on Tour». The move to the canton of Aargau in 2010 helped it grow. The about page describes the office and warehouse as being in the middle of Switzerland, in Bünzen-Boswil near Bremgarten, and says it is only half an hour from Zurich, Lucerne, Zug and Aarau.

The office and warehouse are open Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 17:00, with the note that the hours are given without guarantee. Viewing the warehouse, collecting items and advice are by appointment only.

The reference photo page lists weddings by place and year, which gives a couple a good idea of the range:

The same page even speaks to couples one step earlier, with a line for anyone whose marriage proposal is still to come ("Heiratsantrag noch offen?"), and it points out that for a spot without electricity the company has a large powerbank to rent as well. For a couple in Switzerland, the warehouse viewing by appointment is a chance to see chairs, covers and decor before choosing.

The same page shows corporate work from galas at Swiss Re in Zurich to Christmas decoration in shopping centers, and notes that the company is exclusive decor and event-furniture supplier to Konrad Lifestyle (DJ Antoine).

What you can rent

The online shop is organized into many categories. For a wedding, the relevant ones include the Hochzeit and gala category, lounge and seating, table decoration and table linen, candles, torches and fire, lighting and light effects, carpets and floor coverings, bars and bar accessories, stage platforms and ramps, sound systems, TV and projectors, tents, parasols and heating, and staff (Personal). A separate category lists delivery costs (Lieferkosten).

The shop also has a long list of themed decoration sets, including Africa/Safari, Egypt, Alice in Wonderland, America, London/England, Mexico, Moulin Rouge, Oktoberfest, Orient and 1001 Nights, India, Love and Valentine's Day, Vintage/Retro, Wild West and Circus. The home page highlights LED letters and numbers for staging special moments. For a couple planning a themed reception, or a party the day before, that range is broad.

The reference pages also show some larger showpieces that could anchor a wedding setting: giant palms 4.3 m tall used at a pool party, four inflatable LED candles 5.15 m high, inflatable LED stars, an LED bar and a new ice-cream cart that the home page says is popular everywhere. The shop's category list even runs to a whirlpool for sale or rent. None of these are priced on the reference pages, but the online shop lists the range with prices.

How ordering works

The whole range is in the online shop, and all prices include VAT, so a couple can put an order together and see the cost before asking for a quote. The site says: "Bei uns ist eine Offertanfrage unverbindlich und mit keinem Zahlungsmittel verbunden!" (a quote request with us is non-binding and needs no means of payment), and there is a minimum order value of CHF 80.

Delivery to the event location is offered, and the about page says the company can source special requests through its network, so that a customer can get everything from a single source ("alles aus einer Hand"). The reference page advertises a delivery service all year round, 365 days a year.

• Planning service. The about page says the team can plan and run a wedding on request, but gives no detail or price.

Who it suits

Dekorationsvermietung.ch suits couples marrying in central or northern Switzerland who want one supplier for a large part of the practical setup: furniture, tents and heaters, lighting, sound, table linen and decoration, with online prices and a non-binding quote. The list of past weddings, from castles to boats and golf clubs, shows the company is used to very different venues, and the themed sets suit couples who want a clear concept.

It is less suited to couples who need to work in English, or who want a boutique stylist rather than a rental company with a very large, mixed catalog.
