URP Events is an event rental business run by URP Group SA that rents furniture, table linen, tableware, lighting and decoration for weddings, parties and corporate events. It says it has been renting since 2011, lists its correspondence address as Route de Cugy 11 in Morrens and its depot at Route de Gollion 9 in Penthalaz, and shows prices for many items directly on its site.
Prices on the page
URP Events prints item prices next to the products, in an online shop with an add-to-cart button, and states the basis above the menu: "Tout nos prix sont Hors Taxe, hors transport et mise en place" (all our prices exclude tax, transport and setup).
The homepage shows a sample. A deck chair (Transat) is CHF 25.00, a child's Chiavari chair CHF 6.00, the Elpimis chair CHF 45.00 and the Elpimis armchair (108 cm) CHF 55.00. A gold Mery chair is CHF 40.00, the Héritage chair CHF 12.00 and the Héritage high chair CHF 20.00, and a gold Chiavari chair is CHF 9.50. On the lighting page, a set of 3 LED block candles is CHF 12.00, a single taper candle CHF 1.20, a white LED table lamp CHF 15.00 and a 100 m LED ribbon CHF 290.00. Transparent chandeliers run from CHF 20.00 for a 55 cm model and CHF 30.00 for 58 cm, through the Bianca 4E at CHF 40.00, up to CHF 80.00 for an 85 cm model and CHF 95.00 for a 95 cm one. A giant 140 cm chandelier is marked as available at the end of June.
Because tax, transport and setup are excluded, these are item rates rather than a total. But they let a couple estimate the core of a budget before writing to anyone: multiply the chair price by the guest count, add linen and tableware, and then ask for delivery and setup.
What you can rent
The product menu is long. Furniture covers chairs, seating, chair covers and chair bows, poufs and benches, kits and packages, sofas and armchairs, bars, tables and standing tables, bar stools, illuminated furniture and outdoor furniture. The homepage mentions Napoleon, Chiavari and Saint-Rémy chairs among the chairs in stock.
Table settings (Art de la table) include plates, table service, glasses, tablecloths, napkins and covers for standing tables, and the homepage speaks of a large stock of plates, cutlery, glasses and carafes. The linen section lists round and rectangular tablecloths, table covers, standing-table covers, chair covers, chair bows, table runners and table skirts in several colors and materials.
Decoration takes in vases, cushions, candlesticks, tealight holders, table decorations, lighting and wall decorations, plus consumables, reception accessories, floor coverings, signage and stands, plants and flowers, arches and steles, catering machines, and tents and parasols. The homepage mentions tealight holders, plants, a tree, steles, a desk, mirrors and rope posts.
The wedding theme and styled looks
The Theme section on the homepage has its own wedding entry (Mariage), which points to the linen range: round and rectangular tablecloths, table covers, standing-table covers, chair covers and bows, runners and skirts in several colors and materials. Beside it are entries for end-of-year parties, launches and conferences, and birthdays, where the site mentions tents, a candy floss machine and a chocolate fountain.
There is also a list of event styles: Gatsby, English pubs (coming soon), Route 66, Milles & une nuit, Farm, Industrial, Champêtre (country), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Nomade (bohemian), Casino (glamour), La Belle Époque, Vintage and Christmas. The menu gives Gatsby & Prohibition its own page. For a couple with a clear theme, these are a shortcut to describing the look.
A section on coverings and partitions describes light, telescopic structures that go up without drilling, used to create partitions and cozy corners, and adds "Pour les mariages, un magnifique décor." (For weddings, a magnificent decor.) The company also supplies carpet in almost any color, 2 mm pile, cut to the meter.
Booking and contact
The contact form asks for event details and allows a file upload of up to 15 MB, useful for sending a floor plan or a mood board. There is a quote request entry (Demander un devis) and a catalog in the menu. The main phone number is +41 21 731 10 46, the depot's number is +41 78 727 59 18 and the email is info@urp-events.com. The footer links to pages on delivery and collection, payment and after-rental service, and asks customers to read the general conditions.
Language and delivery area
The site's address starts with an English subdomain (en.), but the pages are in French: the menu, the product names and the price notice are all French. The site says nothing about English, so couples should write in English or French and see how the reply comes back.
The page title names Lausanne, Bern, Fribourg and Zurich, and a long block of keywords lists places across Switzerland (and even Paris). A keyword list is not a service promise, so a couple should ask whether the company delivers to their venue, and what transport and setup to it will cost, before relying on it.
What the site leaves open
The item prices do not include transport or setup, and the homepage does not publish those rates. It does not state a minimum order, a deposit, a lead time or rules on breakage and cleaning, though the general conditions and the payment and delivery pages are linked from the footer. It does not say whether staff set tables and hang chandeliers or only deliver the items.
Who it suits
URP Events suits a couple who wants to work out a rental budget early, with published prices for chairs, lighting and other items, and who needs a wide range from one supplier: chairs, linen, tableware, chandeliers and themed decoration. It is a good match for couples marrying in French-speaking Switzerland who are comfortable dealing in French.
It suits less well a couple who wants an all-in quote from the start, or who needs to be sure of English and of delivery far from the Lausanne area before planning around it.
